Chapter 256: A raven’s pair quest [13]
"Let’s bring that rabbit back with us!" Lala squealed, momentarily forgetting that a particular someone could hear her musings.
Though it was still enormous, this rabbit was significantly smaller than the other rabbits they had seen.
It was still towering over them easily, but it was clear that it was nowhere near the size of the other monsters, with it curling its long legs protectively around the dark skinned male, pulling him closer to its soft fur, its expression almost maternal.
Alithe’s gaze was fixed on the male, his own eyes wide with surprise, disbelief, and relief.
The male met Alithe’s gaze, his expression showing signs of distress, his eyes glistening with tears, the red irises almost glowing in the dim silvery light, looking as if he was on the verge of sobbing, but his gaze held only hope.
Then, snapping out of his stupor, Alithe started struggling against the vine, his movements desperate, but the vine only tightened his hold on him, the tendril-like structure gripping him with increasing strength, holding him in place.
Coco stared at the rabbit, her gaze fixed on the creature, before she started walking towards it, her steps slow and cautious.
As she moved, a vine shot up from her previous spot in front of the door, the green tendril snaking its way towards the door knob and curled around the knob, securing the door, the vine’s grip forming a makeshift lock.
The quest that I need to bring one of the offsprings back with me. Coco thought as she stopped in front of the rabbit and the dark skinned male, her gaze shifting from one to the other.
