Chapter 334: ’Damian will understand’
After that being said, Devon felt the position of his place in her heart was even more special than he thought. She would go as far as killing others for his sake.
He was touched but... He could not afford to have her spill blood because of him.
Damian, on the other hand, felt Alice looked really cool even though her threat was deadly.
He knew she was just saying that because she worried Devon would keep sacrificing himself for others.
He, too, was worried to death so he was glad Alice did that.
When he saw that Devon had lost his arm, he tried all he could to heal him, thinking maybe the properties of the elixir would manifest somehow with his healing but it didn’t work.
He was so heartbroken and contemplated whether to call Alice and let her know about it but he didn’t. He didn’t want to disturb her.
So, he cried, wiping away his tears with-- no, it was more like sucking away his tears with his powers. The fact that his tears were liquid allowed him to manipulate them at will. So, any of it that rolled from his eyes floated away from his face and fell on the handkerchief beside him.
Devon seemed to forget that Damian would worry to death if he saw him with a missing arm. Maybe he felt, ’Damian will understand’ as he always did each time he came back injured from a dungeon raid.
