Chapter 188: It’s called maturing
On the way to the Chairman’s house, after they had picked up the gift, of course, Alice decided to tell Devon of her plans regarding joining a guild.
The atmosphere had become quite light, compared to how heavy it was when he was telling his story.
"Devon," she called and Leo, who had his eyes outside the window, rolled them towards Alice, wondering what she wanted to say this time around. "I really appreciate it that you want to shelter me under your guild. And I mean the fact that you want me to use your guild name, even if I might bring trouble to you. But I thought about it and..." She paused, giving him a regretful look and he nodded.
"I understand." He said. "I know you must have your reasons. So I won’t pry any further." He smiled. "Thank you for considering it."
"Ah, Devon, you’re such an angel." She said. "So understanding. If only ’someone’ was as understanding and didn’t badger me about all the time." She eyed Leo who rolled his eyes away from her.
Devon laughed.
"You two get along quite well." He said. "One would assume you were siblings."
Leo paused for a moment and so did Alice. Siblings? Ah, they were far from that.
"Devon," Alice called with a calm voice. "Do you think... We look anything alike?"
