"So, now that you’re in human form, can you still handle the things you did when you were living in my subconscious?" Alice asked and Leo tilted his head to the side.
"Well, more or so." He said.
"Wait, what does that mean? Is that a yes or no?" She asked and he nodded.
"Don’t worry. It’s all under my control. The only difference right now is that I’m standing next to you. And don’t worry," he took two steps towards her and said, "...I will never leave your side." He smiled and she smiled back at him.
"Then I guess I’ll have to believe you, as always," she said. "After all, you’re not just the voice in my head. You’re my friend."
Hearing Alice say that really made him feel warm. She considered him more than her support and the voice that kept ordering her around, and that was what was important.
"Now, let’s let the baby griffin out." She stretched out her hand, opened the triangular door, and the baby griffin walked out on all fours.
It would’ve fallen but Alice caught him right away.
Its skin was smooth for a monster that would grow to have steel for skin.
"Hey there," Alice called softly, and the little monster squirmed in her arms. "What’s it doing? Does it hate me?"
"No, Alice. it’s just trying to get comfortable." Leo explained. But then the grifflet bit Alice’s palm with its beak. It didn’t hurt at all but it managed to leave its print on her palm.
