Alice’s eyes held a glint, staring at his conviction. He was so... Pure. He was so good. How was he so down to Earth and at the same time, out of this world?
*Wow, now that’s a gentleman filled with integrity.* Leo said and she finally blinked. She shut her eyes.
He was a good person, even Leo knew it. His heart was set on the right path. Yet, for some reason, she did not feel comfortable about him.
She didn’t know how to explain it. She was happy that he was nice to her. He was handsome, caring, and all of that, but maybe because she was the opposite, she didn’t feel they could mix.
Or maybe it was something else.
A foreboding warning her about something that was coming? Was that it?
Screw this, she just couldn’t get it right.
Maybe it was just that she knew she was not a good person so receiving care from an actual good person bothered her.
She brushed her hair with her fingers, a bad habit to be done on a dining table, but since there was no food left, she did not mind.
She rested back on her chair and said casually, while avoiding eye contact, of course.
