Humans are not without greed. Alice knew that saying all too well. She could not tell herself she was not greedy. Fuck! She had way too much greed to say she wasn’t.

But every greed differed, depending on what the person wanted and craved for.

Alice craved peace of mind, a roof above her head to shelter her from a storm. A full kitchen that could feed her and never go empty. Satisfaction of a peaceful life.

That was honestly what she craved for. Her greed.

But then again, she couldn’t exactly have a peaceful life since she had been dragged into the fire and out of the pan, the moment Leo came into her life.

But at least... The fire wasn’t so hot... Yet.

"You certainly have your reasons for wanting me to join your guild, Guild master of the Snow guild." She said. "Will you say that you do not hold the same greed as those others who are trying hard to contact me and promise me the world, just to join their guild?"

Devon took a moment, lowering his head slowly, and Alice wondered if he was trying to make an excuse.

He shouldn’t think of lying because she’d know. At least, Leo would let her know. She had her own lie detector in her head.

"You’re right, I am greedy." He said and Mark clenched tightly the fork in his hand but didn’t act. "I am not without fault and I ask myself, is it because I am selfish or because I care too much?"
