Chapter 339 Vincent mother
One of the vipers looked hesitant.
"What’s wrong?" Vincent asked, frowning, his sharp eyes narrowing in concern.
The first viper remained silent, shifting uncomfortably. Finally, the second viper let out a low hiss and said, "Nerissa... your mother... she’s here too. She’s claiming you’re her son. If we don’t let her stay, she’s threatened to take Toma. We had no choice but to offer her a house." The snake’s voice trembled slightly, its tension clear.
Vincent froze at the mention of his mother’s name. His expression shifted, turning cold as ice, a familiar chill spreading through him.
"Vince..." Kyra gently touched his arm, her fingers light against his tense muscles. She knew a little about his mother, how she had abandoned him when he was just a child, leaving deep scars behind.
"You all go home and rest," Vincent said suddenly, his voice tight, dismissive. But Kyra’s touch lingered, and he paused. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a moment before turning to face her.
"Trust me, Rainbow," he said softly, his tone calmer but still weighed down by something darker. "I don’t want her meeting you. She’s... toxic. A poisonous female. I can’t handle the pressure of her being near you. Not now, okay?" He held her face gently in his hands, leaning down to kiss her forehead.
Kyra nodded silently, understanding the storm behind his words.
"I’m coming with you," Lucas said, his voice firm, stepping closer.
