Chapter 335 I want a little rainbow
At that moment, Kyra noticed Damon had also sat up, his legs folded under him as he eyed the mangoes with mild interest. His expression was unreadable, but the slight tilt of his head showed he was at least a little curious.
Kyra sighed, glancing between the two of them before reluctantly accepting one of the green mangoes from Oceanus.
"Let me cut it for you," he offered, taking the mango into his hands. With his sharp nails, he made neat slices, the fruit glistening in the morning light. "It might be a little sticky; let me wash it." He quickly rinsed the slices in the nearby river, then returned, ready to serve.
He wasted no time sprinkling the chili-salt mixture over it, offering it to her with a teasing grin. "Trust me, you’ll love it," Oceanus said, his confidence making her smile.
With hesitation, Kyra took a small bite, and immediately the intense tanginess hit her. Her face twisted at first, but then the combination of chili and salt kicked in. To her surprise, it wasn’t bad. In fact, the odd mix of flavors started to grow on her, and she found herself enjoying it more than she expected.
Damon watched her closely, his expression still neutral, but there was a flicker of interest in his eyes. He slowly reached for a slice, not wanting to appear too eager but clearly curious. Oceanus was already offering him the chili-salt mixture, smirking as if daring him to try.
Damon took a cautious bite, his face remaining serious as he chewed thoughtfully. After a moment, he gave a subtle nod. "Not bad," he muttered, though it was clear he wouldn’t give Oceanus the satisfaction of a full compliment.
"What’s you all eating?" Lucas’s voice suddenly broke through as he woke up, shifting into his human form. He rubbed his eyes, yawning, and crawled toward them on his knees. When he saw the mangoes, his mouth watered.
"Is that mango?" he asked, a hint of longing in his tone. The sight of the fruit reminded him of the mango trees near his house, and he couldn’t help but feel nostalgic.
