My mates in Beastworld

Chapter 318 Burning heart

Silas spread his powerful wings, transforming into a majestic eagle, his feathers gleaming in the sunlight as he took flight. The wind rushed past him, filling his lungs with the cool air of the open sky. He soared higher, feeling the familiar rush of freedom and power that came with flying. His sharp eyes focused ahead as he aimed straight for his sister’s house, knowing exactly where he needed to go.

On the way, other eagles joined him, circling and gliding through the air, acknowledging him with a respectful distance. Silas thrived on this—the thrill of the sky, the danger that came with his every move, the pulse of adrenaline that made him feel alive. Up here, everything was clear and simple. No expectations, no demands, just the pure rush of wind and wings.

He loved the thrill of the fight, the satisfaction of outmaneuvering an opponent until they were left battered and bloody beneath him. His world was one of strength and dominance, and up here, he felt like the king of the sky. But even in this freedom, there was a shadow that lingered—a red-haired beauty whose image burned in his mind, grounding him even when he wanted nothing more than to soar endlessly.

As he flew closer to his sister’s house, the landscape shifted beneath him, but his thoughts remained on the one thing that no flight could free him from.

Silas landed softly at the door, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings as his nose caught a familiar scent. His heartbeat quickened as he walked inside, expecting to see someone—her.

Inside, Lara was laughing with Alessandro, her voice light and carefree. "Oh my god, I really enjoyed time with them! Lucas is so interesting, and although Damon didn’t speak much, he’s easy to get along with." She turned toward Silas as she noticed him enter.

"You’re late, brother," Lara said with a teasing smile. "But it’s fine, I know you didn’t want to come, so you came late." Her words were playful, but Silas didn’t respond. There was a tension in the air around him, something that Lara had sensed before. She could feel the invisible string pulling her brother’s thoughts toward someone else.

His expression shifted, and his breath became heavy. "Did she come?" Silas asked in a low, dangerous voice, as if each word was a weight he couldn’t bear.

Lara paused for a second, her smile fading. She knew who he meant. "Who? Kyra? Yes, she came. God, you should have come earlier. We had such a good time! But Kyra started feeling nauseous, so she left. I know her pregnancy is acting up..."
