My mates in Beastworld

Chapter 269 Silverpeak moutain (1)

Kyra looked around the quiet forest, her hands brushing against the leaves branch which was slightly lowered. Everything felt real, but she wondered if this space was just in her imagination.

Suddenly, her perspective shifted. She could see everything clearly as if through her own eyes, but she had no control over her body.

Seeing Damon and Lucas hesitate with Kaia hurt her deeply. Kaia was as much a part of her as Kyra herself, and their hesitation made her feel a sharp pang of rejection. Kaia sighed, and with a heavy heart, she gave control back to Kyra, her sad voice echoing, ’It’s okay.’

Kyra, feeling the sadness her other half endured, wished she could comfort her, but now wasn’t the time. She had to let it go for the moment and focus on the next task. Tomorrow, they would head to Silver Peak Mountain, and she needed to be ready for what awaited them there.

Next day

The morning air was crisp, biting cold as a blanket of fresh snow coated the landscape in a thick, pristine layer of white. The sky was a pale, icy blue, with faint streaks of pink and orange from the rising sun barely visible beyond the towering pines. Each tree was weighed down by the heavy snow, their branches sagging under the winter’s burden, while icicles hung like crystal ornaments, glistening in the soft light.

"Everyone is here!" the leader’s voice boomed, his eyes scanning the group. Fifteen warriors had gathered, each carrying their small bags packed with supplies for the journey. The leader’s sharp gaze flicked across every face, ensuring no one was missing.

Kyra stood among them, her attire chosen carefully for the treacherous terrain ahead. She wore comfortable clothes that allowed her to move freely, with a light sweater for warmth.

Damon and Lucas stood close, one on each side of Kyra, their presence solid and protective. Leader Marc cleared his throat and addressed them. "Most of the warriors here are dragons, so we’ll be flying. Lucas, Kyra—you both can ride on Damon. Is that alright?" His gaze lingered on Damon, who gave a calm nod in agreement.
