Chapter 247 No more fear(1)
Damon leaned closer, his forehead gently pressing against hers. His warm breath brushed across her face, and Kyra slowly opened her eyes, finding herself incredibly close to him. She could see every detail—the way his eyes were blinking at her, the tall bridge of his nose, his thin, light pink lips, and the sharp angle of his jawline.
She remembered the first day they met, how he had seemed so cold and authoritative, how just a single glance from him had scared her so much that time. But now, here he was, holding her, assuring her with a gentleness she had never imagined. Something had shifted between them, something she couldn’t quite put into words. It was a feeling so beautiful that it made her stomach flutter with butterflies, a sensation that was entirely new to her.
Damon was still a mystery, though. Why did he want revenge against Benjamin and Sandra? What had broken him so deeply? What was really going on in his mind? Kyra knew she needed to understand him, to learn everything about him. She decided that the best way to start was by opening up to him, telling him her own truth. Maybe then, he would trust her enough to share his secrets too.
And she had to tell them about her beast awakening as well. She didn’t want to hide anything from them.
Suddenly, a shiver ran down Kyra’s spine as she felt Lucas’s head rest on her neck, his soft silver hair tickling her skin. The sensation made her breath hitch for a moment, and she couldn’t help but feel comforted by his warmth.
Damon noticed Lucas’s closeness to her, and his jaw clenched. He tried to ignore it, but a tightness gripped his heart, jealousy creeping in. As he watched them, his mind began to wander, imagining them even closer than this—kissing each other, touching each other in ways that made his blood simmer.
The images sent him to the edge, making his entire body tense as he fought to contain the emotions that surged within him. He shouldn’t be feeling this way, but it was impossible to ignore the way his heart twisted painfully with every thought.
"Thank you, Damon... Lucas... I’m so sorry I wasn’t in my right state of mind," Kyra whispered, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. She felt lighter now, as if the weight of her fears and insecurities had been lifted, if only a little.
Damon took a step back, his smile softening as he watched her calm down. Lucas, on the other hand, leaned in and kissed her cheek, his angelic smile radiating warmth and comfort.
"You still want to go to Silver Peak Mountain, right?" Damon asked after a brief pause, his tone gentle but serious. "But you need to speak with the leader or the healer. If they agree... I won’t stop you." He added this with a sigh of resignation, seeing how much calmer she looked now.
Suddenly, Lucas leaned in toward closer toward kyra, his movements surprising both Damon and Kyra. Before she could react, Lucas’s tongue darted out, licking away the tear stains on her cheeks. Kyra gasped as a shiver ran through her body, the unexpected sensation of his warm, wet tongue sending an electric tingle through her skin.
"Luca!" Kyra exclaimed, her face flushing.
