Chapter 507: Ch 507
"Let’s leave, everyone. Looks like our party is over," spoke a female pilot from another mech not too far away.
Seeing that the other Republican fleet nearby had already widened the distance and another was approaching, she knew they couldn’t do anything more.
"Brett is right. Everyone, let’s leave before trouble surrounds us. We don’t want to end up like the Green Giant Squad, right? Losing half their squad, and all of those who survived now have to start again."
Hearing this, those with unwilling faces immediately changed their expressions and quickly agreed.
The Dark Star Squad quickly exited from Battle Zone 2.
A similar thing happened across the other three battle zones. All the mech squadrons and starfighter squadrons of Ritika Fleet quickly rushed out towards safer spaces.
"High Admiral Barrack!" Langer spoke, bringing excitement into his voice as they had successfully, for the first time, managed to put pressure on the human fleet and even take out as many as a thousand mechs and starfighters combined.
Though the loss might not be big at all and could be considered nothing on the scale of the battle being fought, this was their first clear success against the almost invisible human fleet.
And now, that aura of invisibility surrounding the enemy had successfully receded under this attack.
"We have successfully managed to fill the gaps and provide support to the battle zones that needed it, and even reinforced them a bit. Not only that, we have even forced the human starfighters and mechs out, destroying a few in the process. And even their fleet at the back has already diverted their firepower towards two of our flanks."
A small smile formed on his lips, and then Barrack spoke.
"Good. Good, good!" he said with joy before quickly becoming serious again. "This isn’t the time to be happy about it. We need to put even more pressure on the human fleet ahead of us. This might be the turning point that we were actually looking for. It can’t be missed."
"Deploy another four hundred ships on the two flanks. Reinforce them as much as possible. And have another thousand ships in reserve, prepared to support them. This is an advantage we cannot lose, and at the same time, we cannot let go of this advantage. We must step up," ordered Barrack solemnly.
Langer nodded his head, serious as well, accepting the command.
"One more thing."
Before Langer could leave, Barrack added, "Increase the intensity of our attacks. We must not let the human fleet provide support to its flanks and take our flanks down. They should not be given any breathing room either. Pay attention to this as well."
"Yes, Commander."
Langer nodded his head and quickly left for his station.
And the Republican armada, as if revitalised somewhat, began to move like a true veteran armada that had gone through countless wars, moving with extreme precision.
Not only were an additional four hundred ships dispatched to reinforce the two flanks, but an additional thousand ships were also prepared in reserve.
At the same time, the central battle line began to attack the human fleet with greater frequency and intensity.
Increasing pressure on the Lance of the Void Grand Fleet’s 3rd Fleet to another level.
While they were able to cope with it, their intensity towards the Republican forces diminished by half directly. Seeing that they had successfully reduced the pressure being placed on his armada, at least in the vanguard zone, relieved Barrack quite a bit.
With a small smile, he pulled out a holo-display, wanting to check the situation of Grand Marshal Kalen, who had gone to launch a frontal attack only to be pulled into a fight by a similarly powerful mech warrior from the human forces.
"I wonder if he has finished or is about to finish with that human mech," Barrack muttered thoughtfully to himself.
Grand Marshal Kalen was an astonishingly powerful individual, able to cross any adversity and defeat multiple, even stronger enemies.
"No way."
Barrack uttered it in shock, unable to believe what he was seeing right in front of his face.
He saw Grand Marshal Kalen’s mech, Dark Demon, being brutally attacked by the human mech and even being unable to mount any kind of counterattack.
He then saw the Grand Marshal throw away the human mech with a counter and rush towards a human fighter squadron attacking one of their battleships, only to be caught midway and attacked by the human mech.
The attack threw Dark Demon far to the side, directly colliding with the shields of one of their battlecruisers.
The human mech appeared again and launched another surprise attack, which the Dark Demon avoided quite quickly.
The attack of the human mech split the completely intact battlecruiser in two, and soon it disappeared piece by piece.
Barrack’s breath caught in his throat, and cold sweat began running down his back.
Suddenly, the urgent voice of dark soul came over the communication line, ordering Barrack to divert firepower to suppress the human.
Barrack frowned upon hearing this. For a moment, he wanted every ship that he could mobilise at his hands to keep putting pressure on the human fleet. But what the commander wanted him to do would be the exact opposite, so he couldn’t help but frown.
But looking at the human mech facing off against Dark Demon, and remembering its previous attack and the aftermath it had caused, that dreadful feeling washed over him again.
He knew this mech couldn’t be left on its own. If that happened, then he knew the advantage he had just achieved would be gone before he could even react.
"No. I can’t let this happen. I need to provide support to the Grand Marshal. Damnit all."
"Langer, divert a quarter of our firepower towards that human mech. Provide support to the Marshal."
Langer also felt that this move wasn’t right, but he knew this wasn’t his place to comment. So he nodded and began diverting the fleet’s firepower towards the human mech.
