Chapter 23: LOVE
Henry walked halfway to the other side of town. From his house to the school, was eight kilometers, and walking there wasn't an easy task. He usually takes a bus but he has to go to the store since it is the sports day at his school, he was late and had to run to get to the store in time but it was already too late, the store was closed.
"It looks like they closed early" he whispered. "And even if I run, I won't be able to make it back to the bus stop in time"
As he turned to leave, his stomach growled, he hadn't eaten since morning. He didn't eat much since he was trying to get to school early and that was because he woke up late, his work has taken a toll on him lately. Even without eating, he still participated in the sports and still ran to the store, he was completely drained.
"If I don't find something to eat, I might not be able to wake up tomorrow morning. And even if I decided to wait till the morning, I walk past here at five-thirty in the morning, and the shop isn't open then. Maybe I can ask the neighbors for food."
With that plan, he decided to go home hungry. There was a T junction at the end of the block, he turned right before hearing a sound; it was coming from behind him. He wanted to keep walking and mind my business, but something made him turn around.
It was a high-pitched scream for help, he knew the voice, it was May. Without thinking he quickly ran in the direction of the screaming and found a demon eating a woman. Henry covered his mouth, so he wouldn't scream.
Henry's eyes widened and he started to sweat as soon as he recognized the woman. It was May's mother; the same woman who came to school to pick up her daughter and just walked away a few minutes ago.
_She's now... Dead!!_ Henry tried to walk away silently but mistakenly kicked a stone. _Not good._
The demon suddenly paused, then slowly turned its head around without even moving its body.
"What do we have here?" The demon said, It had a feminine voice.
_I-it can talk; that means... It's an upper-class demon._
