I paced the entrance of the Moon Whisper – every second felt like a thousand years. They should be home by now.
I was beside myself with joy when Lucius had called earlier to inform me that the doctors had finally found a heartbeat. It was a good sign but most importantly, I just wanted to be with my mate. I wanted to hold her close and just enjoy being in her presence.
A watcher I had sent ahead, came back a while later to inform me they were coming and would be with me in the next few minutes. As they approached the pack grounds, I could feel my wolf pacing anxiously, eager to reunite with his mate.
The moment Selene stepped out of the vehicle, unable to stop myself, I rushed at her, enveloping her in a hug.
"My love!" I murmured into her hair, inhaling her scent deeply. Although it felt off but I assumed it was because she hadn’t had a proper bath for days now so I pushed it aside. "You’re safe now,".
"I missed you!" she murmured reaching for my lips and kissing me, unlike her. Selene wasn’t a big fan of PDAs but I was assuming with everything that had happened, she felt so grateful for life.
