Chapter 230: Are you dying?
Selene POV
By the time I made my way down and back to the pack house, I was drained.
Back when I was just a weak wolf at the mercy of my mate, Xavier... I had wished for death night and day but to think I was going to die and didn’t want to die was funny to me.
When I arrived at the pack house, I spotted Noah and Xavier standing in front of the building, deep in conversation. Surprised at what seemed to be a familiarity I’d never seen before, I moved closer, clearing my throat as I announced my presence.
They both looked up, Noah’s face lighting up with joy when he saw me. He stretched a hand towards me and I entered it without hesitation. Our lips met as we kissed each other fervently. We would have continued kissing if not for Xavier clearing his throat repeatedly until Noah reluctantly let go.
"Where have you been? We’ve been looking for you?" he asked.
"Nowhere in particular!" I said with a smile. "I just took a stroll around the pack lands and the breeze got into my eyes and now, I want my bed and rest. So, what’s up?"
"Well, I finished the conversation with Xavier and darling, I know you don’t want this... same here but do you think you could give Xavier a little of your time? Please... he has something to say to you and...".
I felt my heart constrict as I took in Noah’s pleading eyes. It was too much to bear. "Noah," I said gently. "Xavier and I have already spoken many times. I’m not sure, what else there is to say. We have no words for each other and it’s the truth. I will only end up getting annoyed and I’m not sure it’s good for me or the baby,".
