Narrator POV
Selene didn’t know why the Grand Lycan was suddenly on her side but she didn’t have the time as a luxury to analyze his real intentions. The goal now was to have the Pack Elders and Officials removed and have them replaced by her men.
She sank on her bed with every inch of her body aching with exhaustion and sore from Noah’s lustful ministrations a while ago. She knew she must have to keep him happy no what and the easiest way to do it is to make he’s always satisfied both emotionally and sexually. Things were aligning easily and she couldn’t afford for things to go sideways again.
A gust of wind blew into the room from the window making Selene jerk into a seating position as he gazes flew to the direction from which the sound had come. Her eyes widened with fear and surprise at the same time as she scanned her room, looking for anything she could use as a weapon, she settled for the hairbrush on the bedside table. As she waited for the intruder to come up, suddenly, Kurtis climbed into the room, panting as he fell on the floor.
"I’m sorry," he wheezed "I should have called or something but it’s urgent and I’ve been trying to reach you all day,".
"You can’t be here, Kurtis," Selene said with gritted teeth as she rushed to the door of her bedroom to lock it. "Noah will be here any minute, it’s dangerous. Also, Noah was about to call you, we need you to give us some of your soldiers to watch the pack tonight. I finally did it Kurtis. Even the Grand Lycan is on our side and thinks the pack elders and officials should be penalized. We’re this close to using our people, let’s not jeopardize this. So, leave, now... I’ll call you, okay?"
"You’re not listening to me, Selene," he hissed "There’s a problem... The Grand Lycan’s men are snooping around on you. He has them trying to dig up old things and I have a bad feeling that sooner or later they will find something and I need you to be careful. Leonard Carrell is more dangerous than his son... he’s determined to keep the Kingship in his line and he’ll do anything to achieve it,".
"Maybe he’s not as bad as we think he is," Selene sighed "I know this sounds crazy but he was a different person tonight. We forgave each other and he’s going to facilitate the removal of those pack elders and officials. That’s a good sign. I mean, maybe he’s ruthless and wants to protect what he holds dear to heart but isn’t it what we’re all fighting for? When you believe in something, you become ruthless. Fine! He’s snooping but he won’t find anything right? We made sure of that,".
"Still, you have to be careful," Kurtis said "Do you still have that journal? The one you started writing after you survived, where we have the plans in?"
