I saved the day.
One of the things I learnt about dealing with people was to always be have the upper hand in any situation you find yourself. Whether it is getting access to dark secret of the other person or looking for a vice you can hold on to incase things didn’t go your way.
The only people that turned out completely clean in the thieving heist going on in Moon Whisper was Noah and his family. They were surprisingly clean... too clean for my liking but I was going to look for something too, I could hold on to and use as a bargaining chip, especially for someone like Nora.
"Why didn’t you inform be about all this?" Noah broke into my thoughts.
We had left the meeting hall together with all the elders and pack officials sitting quietly. Noah told them that he would check all the evidence provided and decide on the best way to go about it.
"Inform you?" I chuckled "C’mon, Noah... if I had told you this way before that meeting, you wouldn’t have allowed me to use it in the first place. Like I told you, this was going to be my ace and I wasn’t going to use it but they asked for it. If they had just accepted my apology and not come up with those stupid ideas, I’m sure...".
"You’re making things worse, Selene," he breathed covering his face with both hands "You do not know these men... they’ll hate your more and will be determined to do anything to have me removed. I had a feeling that they’ve been taking money but it didn’t start now, it has existed way before I became King. You cannot just fight this thing... it’ll lead to rebellion and that’s the last thing I want now,".
I stared at Noah, trying to wrap my head around everything he was saying "Are you serious right now!? We are trying to dismantle this guts that these men have and you’re complaining about it? Did you like the way they were threaten to have you removed because you do not want to dance to their tune... for Moon’s sake Noah aren’t you tired of being treated like a figure head,".
