Chapter 176: I made a lot of discoveries...
Selene POV
"Renounce your position as Luna or you close down the office of the Luna," the elder said. "We were going to tell you this but thank the goddess that there’s an opportunity. So if you truly want to show how remorseful you are... you’ll make a choice,".
I had envisioned that they would try to ask me to resign and I had a ready reply for that scenario but hearing them making a play for my position as Luna and Noah’s wife was a punch on my face. I stared at the elder hoping he was making a joke but these people don’t joke.
"You cannot be serious," Noah interjected "You cannot ask my wife to renounce her position as Luna. She’s my mate and marrying her already validates that,".
"This doesn’t concern you, Your Majesty," the elder said coldly to Noah "The only reason why there’s been no petition for you to be stripped of your title too is because you’ve been a good king and we have identified the root cause of the problem which is your wife here. In reality, we’re not asking both of you to divorce and go separate ways... no... she can be your mate, your wife... or whatever but not our Luna,".
"Don’t you dare threaten me with that," Noah fumed "You have no right...".
"We do, your Majesty," an official said rising to his feet "It is stated in our constitution that if the King starts to act independently without seeking the advice of his trusted members and the people, then they have the right to petition for his removal,".
"So, you want to be involved in dealing with my family’s problem?" Noah blasted "The issue that happened with my father was...".
"Who says this has anything to do with the incident of the Grand Lycan? The Grand Lycan himself asked us to keep mute since you’ve decided not to pursue it and we have. What we are talking about your Majesty..." the elder paused and nodded towards a servant nearby that came to his table to pick up a stack of documents which he took to Noah "It’s you, shrieking duty that was supposed to profit the pack both financially, politically and economically to run to your nephew’s pack all because of a woman,".
