Chapter 169: The will of the people...

My heart was bursting with joy as I sat on the podium in front of the crowd watching Noah address the people. Today was my official induction of the Office of the Luna and dignitaries across the Eastern region were in attendance.
It’s been two weeks since I and Noah went into therapy and nearly a week since my children returned to Greyhound with Xavier. For some reason, in the last conversation Noah and Xavier had done some good or so I thought and for an equally unknown reason, Noah has been so good to me. We haven’t had any quarrels either and I could tell the therapy now was more for formality’s sake than for our marriage because everything was going well.
I suspected it had to do with what Xavier told Noah but at this point, I wasn’t interested in finding out and have decided to go with the flow. Whatever it was, I don’t care, and I won’t.
"When my wife first came to me with the idea of making Luna’s office functional, I thought it was a crazy idea because, in my mind, I have limited the place of a woman to only be in the house, taking care of the children and just be there but when her intentions were made known to me, I knew I just had to. This way, the Office of the Luna will also give the women voices to speak and believe me when I say the Luna has a lot of packages planned for every woman present here today,".
He paused and allowed his eyes to search the faces of all the people present. Noah was a wonderful orator. He had a way of getting into people’s heads and making them fall in love with him and I know he was doing all of this because he wanted me to have a smooth landing. If only he knew that I had prepared for this day for three years ago. Except for a few tweaks to my well-memorized speech, I had everything under control.
"So, I would ask that you give my Luna all the support she needs because let’s face it... we will be nowhere without the support of our mates and with this, I hope the people can tell how much I love them and have their interests at heart. I will stop here for now and allow our Luna to tell you more, Thank you,".
The crowd erupted into a standing ovation as he returned to me and stretched his hand towards me to pull me to my feet. Our gazes met as we shared a hot, passionate kiss – oblivious to the hoots and excited shouts from the people behind us. Did I mention that our sex life has improved a lot?
We finally had to end the kiss and I allowed Noah to escort me to the microphone before he returned to take his seat. The crowd quietened as every eye turned to me. This would be the first time I would be addressing them and rather than being nervous, I was excited. This was the most difficult part of the plan but since I had overcome this stage, the rest of it would be easy peasy.
