Chapter 165: I will not entertain any harmful notions towards Selene
Xavier POV
I rushed to my mother sprawled on the ground and lifted her trying to console her. The rest of the people in the hall were frozen and looked around dazedly. It was a clear indication that they were as shocked as I was... even though his defence for Selene was unexpected it was his going against grandfather that left me speechless.
My eyes travelled to where my grandfather was sitting regally, his expression as calm as the stream. It was difficult for me to know if he was angry with Noah or not. The pack elders and officials all clustered in front of him, I could see worry on their faces as they waited for my grandfather to say something.
But after a while, he simply rose to his feet and started towards the door.
"Grand Lycan," the most vocal of the elders ran towards him "Are you just going to leave without saying anything? Tell us what to do and we will carry it out with all of our hearts. The Lycan King has brought disrespect to you and us, there must be something we can do that will serve as a warning to everyone,".
"You heard the King," my grandfather said quietly "This matter ends here,".
"But..." some of the elders surged forward with surprise on their faces but one cold look from my grandfather made them swallow their words.
"Let’s return to our homes, the matter ends today and I hope in the future no one tries to bring it up. We must always be accountable to the King and if he says a matter is over... it is. Thank you all for your concern,".
He walked out of the hall. I carried the phones and my mom outside the hall and just as we had walked a little distance from the hall, I saw Beta Reid waiting for me. He was leaning against the wall when he saw me approaching, he pushed away from the wall and started walking towards me.
