Chapter 114: Conrad’s plan...
Selene POV
"Mommy, something is not right!" Vina said for the umpteenth time since I came to their room today.
Their Nannies reached out to me last night saying that the girls have been gloomy. They refused to eat or drink and they were worried. Since I was tired last night and with the entire fiasco of things that happened, I didn’t want to go to the girls, especially after speaking with Kragen.
So, I waited until this morning. I insisted on grooming them this morning and they haven’t stopped singing into my ears that something is not right.
"Everything will be fine darling, I promise," I ruffled her hair kissing her on the forehead. "Mommy is here and also daddy,".
"I’m just scared that something will happen to Daddy," Maeve sobbed leaning into my arms "I can’t explain it but I feel that something terrible will happen to him. Please tell Daddy to be careful, especially today,".
"Of course, dear," I nodded with a bright smile that didn’t reach my heart. Wondering if the dream I had last night was related to what she was saying. Last night, I had a dream that Moon Whisper was attacked. I saw a lot of injured people, including Reid and Noah but I couldn’t find Xavier and it was as if I had been looking for him desperately in that dream. Plus, there was this sense of foreboding that lingered as I searched. As though something would happen if I didn’t find him.
I had wanted to reach out to Xavier since I woke up but I didn’t want him to get the wrong ideas. These days, it was becoming increasingly difficult to be around him. Whenever we met, Bea would be so excited and would be pushing for a hug. I’ve had to use all my willpower to stop myself from latching onto him. But I was going to reach out to him later on, maybe through Kurtis.
"Could you finish up with the girls?" I turned to the nannies "I’ll come back, I need to go talk to Alpha Xavier,".
