Selene POV
The atmosphere grew heavy as I and Xavier stared at each other without saying anything.
Lucius murmured something about going to check on some soldiers and left taking the girls with him. Finally, it was just me and Xavier.
"Why are you doing this, Selene?" Xavier broke the silence "I know I made a lot of mistakes in the past but I have changed and I’m ready to prove that to you,".
"I’m sorry, Xavier," I said coldly "But there’s nothing to be proven. There was a time when I wanted to be loved by you. When I craved your attention and I got repaid by your repeated cheating spree with Belinda. Now you can be with her and fuck her all you want,".
In a flash, he reached for me and dragged me to himself, his eyes searching my face "There’s a part of you that wants me, Selene. Just like the way you wanted me the other night and begged for it. You cannot live without me. Anytime we meet, anytime we touch, the sparks fly and I can tell you for free that you’d never experience that with my uncle,".
"Let me worry about that," I yanked my hands away from his "Sex is not everything and Noah will make me happy,".
He didn’t say anything, he cocked his brow at me as he stared at me with a hooded expression. After several seconds of being under his scrutiny, I was beginning to feel uncomfortable.
