Chapter 60: First Trip Together
When she walks out of the bathroom, her phone rang, and Andrew’s name appears on the screen. She immediately picks up the phone. "A-Andrew? Why did you call me this late at night? Did something happen to you?" She asked worriedly.
Andrew stunned. He glances at the digital clock on the dashboard, now almost 1 AM. "Sorry, Mel. Did I wake you up?" He feels sorry because he called her in the middle of the night.
"No, I just finished working online. You know, I have a dateline." She feels sorry to lie to him. "Andrew, is something happened? Why suddenly you call me at this time?" This is the first time Andrew has called her in the middle of the night like this.
"I’m fine..." he paused. Mel is silently waiting "it’s just... right now I really want to hear your voice." His tone sounds sweet in Mel’s ears. She feels her cheeks warm, she blushes. "So, I call you without looking at the clock." Mel could hear him exhale. "Now, I’ve heard your voice. I feel better. Mel..."
"Hmm...?"
"Go sleep now. Don’t stay up late again, okay. I’ll see you tomorrow." He said, then hung up the phone.
What happens with him? Is he in trouble?
Since Mel knew him, she never heard Andrew’s voice sounded like before. He sounded sad, worried, and lost. Now Mel worries about him, but she can’t do anything to help him.
She feels helpless.
Is this what it feels to like someone? When he is sad, I feel sad too. When he is restless, I also feel restless.
Now she really wants to meet with him. But impossible, right? She could only wait until tomorrow.
