Chapter 31: I Will Accept Her Feelings
Iris had never been aware of Xavier’s background; he was quite secretive about his personal life. All she knew was that he had moved to town about a year ago and had become her classmate. His private life remained a mystery to her.
"What are you waiting for?" Xavier said impatiently, surprising Iris. "Lie down in this bed, Iris."
"S-Sleeping there? W-Why? Why should I sleep there..." She stuttered, her tone filled with fear and alertness, as she looked at his gaze. She was afraid that this man might do something inappropriate to her.
His peculiar bearing was still hard for her to understand; he brought her to his house, and now he was asking her to sleep on the bed. She felt on edge!
"Yes!"
Although worried, Iris still walked towards the bed, her face dark and tense. She avoided Xavier’s gaze and focused on the bed.
"Why do you look scared?" Xavier asked, confused by the sudden change in her expression. Somehow, he felt annoyed because Iris was the first human he couldn’t hear her thoughts, and it bothered him.
"Xavier, please don’t do anything..." Iris stopped her words as she felt her phone vibrating nonstop in her coat pocket. Her body instantly turned cold when she saw her grandmother’s name on the phone screen.
’How could I forget Grandma!?’ She mumbled while accepting the call.
