Chapter 9: God’s Helpers (1)
Iris and Gavriel sat facing each other in the second-floor living room area.
As they started a conversation, Iris couldn’t help but feel distressed, knowing the possibility of her grandmother coming to the second floor.
"Can we talk somewhere? I’m worried my grandmother might be confused about seeing you here," Iris looked after Gavriel.
"You don’t need to worry about that. I’m invisible to everyone but you," Gavriel assured her. His unwavering gaze fixed on the worried girl before him.
"Y-You, not real?" Iris asked, her confusion flashing through her eyes as she heard his words; he was invisible to everyone except her.
Gavriel sat up straight in response, his upper lip curling into a slight, cold smile. In the blink of an eye, he disappeared and appeared beside Iris, slowly tilting his head closer to her. He stopped his movements just inches in front of her face to enjoy the sight of her shocked expression.
He felt amused looking at the girl trying to pull her head away from him. His hand rose, gently touching her chin, guiding her face to meet his gaze.
Their eyes locked before he said, "I am real. And I can touch you, Miss Gray!" After observing Iris’s suprised expression, he vanished again before reappearing, sitting in his seat.
Everything happened so fast.
