Chapter 89: Sorry, Rose!
Rose stole a glance at Evan. She saw him almost finish his meal and at the same time, his phone rang.
"Excuse me, Rose, I have to take this call...."
Rose nodded as she continued to eat her meal. Sometimes she looks at Evan. He was standing at the end of the room receiving a call. She couldn’t hear what Evan was talking about. But, from his tone and the expression on his face, it looked like he was annoyed. As if someone was challenging him. She was slightly surprised as she had never seen his angry expression like this before.
Did something happen in his office? Worried, Evan has to go somewhere. She quickly finished her lunch.
"Have you finished your meal?" Evan came back and sat back in his seat.
"Hmm, yeah, I just finished my meal. Something seems to be bothering you. Is there a problem at your work?" Rose couldn’t hide her worries.
"Not a big problem. But I have to go to Vale City right now. Do you mind if we go home now? We can explore this place next time..." Evan felt sorry that he had to cancel his plan to take Rose shopping at this mall.
But someone in Vale City asked for a beating. His people are not working to his expectations with one of his company projects, which now gives him a headache. He doesn’t have a choice. He must fly there and take a look.
"Sure! Let’s go." Rose stood from her chair before she continued, "I also feel today is not the right time for me to explore this mall. I still have a lot of work to do at home. I haven’t even unpacked my baggage...."
