Chapter 22: Marvin Sanders
"Evan, are you waiting for someone?" Rose, who had just come out of the powder room, was startled by the bell ringing sound. She looked at Evan, who was sitting on the sofa.
"Yes. Sorry, Rose... we have to delay 15 minutes." He stood and approached her. "You can wait a bit while watching the news...."
"Sure, no problem. We still have an hour...."
Rose took a deep sigh when she saw Evan’s back disappear from her sight toward the door. She sat on the couch while trying to relax her worried mind.
What if Evan’s parents came?
She is not ready to meet Evan’s parents. Not yet.
Rose was aware that Evan’s parents would definitely not accept her. She is only a child of a single mother. She didn’t even know who her father was. Even though they belong to middle and upper-class families financially, the gap between her and Evan is like earth and sky.
She needs more time equally standing by his side before his family knows about her. Their relationship should be kept secret until she has something she can be proud of, like her own business empire.
Still deep in thought, Rose didn’t realize that Evan was standing behind her.
"Rose..."
Rose turned back to look behind, surprised because Evan was already standing behind her. And, she saw a familiar figure of a man with ginger hair, standing not far from Evan. He looked neat in his black suit. The man looked at her in shock.
