Chapter 47: Underboss.
It wasn’t just exciting, but it meant that it was more than Pablo thought about. If they make a connection with the DSA and they actually go with it, they can really be an unstoppable force... and be in the worst spot at the same time.
Working with an agency is a two-sided blade that can hurt more than everything else in their worlds.
"How do we make a connection with them?" He asked as he looked at James who was still circling things that didn’t make any sense even to him.
"My so called supervisor, Olivia, we know her full name, and you bribed the Justice minister, didn’t you?"
"Yeah, I did." He said with pride in his voice. "So should we search where she is?"
"She is probably in a hospital, we just need to pay a visit and talk with her in a good manner," Joseph said as he wrote up her name. "Though her eyes were like a hunter." He looked up. "She talked proudly about the new system and there is no corruption, so it worries me a little that she might be a problem. She looks like the kind of agent who still seeks justice in a rotten word."
"She might, but she needs to look at the bigger picture." Pablo said as he pointed at the paper. "If she really is for justice then, we aren’t the big picture for her, but everything around us."
"Yeah, we are like a magnet, we draw everything in, with all of our moves, like if the Cassian family is just a setup for all of them, though that’s a problem too." He said as he leaned back. "We can’t let ourselves draw in too much."
"What worries me the most in that whole situation is if we go with it, is the DSA really going to let us do whatever we want?" Pablo asked as he tapped his finger on the paper.
"I already said it, Pablo. The Cassian family is now the center and around it is just pure chaos, we are nothing but at the same time we are everything." He looked up. "We don’t need to tell them what we will do or not, because they already knew it, but their focus now is not on us but on them. For ten straight years they did nothing with them, which is also an advantage for us, the public unrest and the reaction that it will bring."
