Chapter 72: Marry Me!
"Abby, why do you look so happy reading your phone?" Sawyer’s voice startled Abigail. She hurriedly put her cell phone in her bag as she approached his car.
"Funny reels..." Abigail replied casually as she got into the car.
Sawyer chuckled inwardly, feeling amused. He couldn’t help but smile as he watched Abigail fastening her seatbelt, which sent his heart racing as he admired her beauty.
"Did you wait long?" he asked calmly, pressing the gas pedal as the vehicle began to move.
"Nope," Abigail replied, placing her bag in the back seat. "I didn’t even finish watching my funny reels before you arrived." She randomly answered Sawyer’s questions, glancing at him before refocusing on the road ahead.
"What do you want to eat?" Sawyer asked, swallowing hard when he saw her tie her hair back. "Let’s find a nice restaurant for a late lunch."
"Are you already starving?" Abigail responded instead of answering his question. She imagined that any restaurant would be packed since it was lunchtime. Besides, she wasn’t familiar with where to eat in this town.
Even though she frequently visited this place, she spent most of her time in the nursery or the hospital.
Rather than searching for a charming restaurant, she preferred to return to his cabin and prepare lunch for them. The fridge had so many ingredients; not using them would be a waste.
