Chapter 209: Ultimatum (4)
Since he was truly hungry, Arren didn’t waste any of his time arguing with Levin and followed the chef as though nothing had happened. He looked straight ahead and occasionally gave a glimpse at the kitchen staff that were busy leaving the kitchen.
There were also dining rooms just adjacent to the kitchen, and the biggest one held the most elegant dining hall, where Spade commonly ate his meals.
And as Arren entered the hall, he immediately observed the place. He had never visited the kitchen before, and he was often eating in the room while the food was being delivered or eating with Spade and Empress Liviera in the dining room not far from their room.
It was really so big that it would already be a small banquet hall, but it only had a lone long table at the center; it seemed a bit lonely considering the space surrounding it. It paled in comparison to the simple dining room they often had breakfast in or in the Katz Mansion. Despite the elegance it harbored, it didn’t appear comfortable for Arren.
However, he only shrugged his shoulders and proceeded in his steps until the table was before him and sat in one of the side seats. Arren, when he was hungry, never cared where he ate anyway.
Levin also followed him and sat in the seat that was in front of him as they stared at each other while waiting for the food to be served at the table.
"Do you want to look at my face so much, Young Master Arren?" Levin shattered the silence and joked, leaning on his seat with a smirk on his lips. Although it wasn’t the same as his careless grin before, it was quite an improvement from his gloomy mood earlier.
Arren might become happy because of this if not for what he said. He arched his brow and sneered, "What is good to see in your face?"
Levin chuckled; his expression smoothed considerably. "But you kept staring at my face." The alpha brought up the obvious.
Of course, Arren wouldn’t admit that he was observing Levin’s expression. Their relationship was such that even if the alpha could sense the real reason why Arren kept staring at him, he would still joke about it as Arren was antagonistic toward him.
His expression soured and he squinted his eyes. "You’re the only one here with me, or do you want me to look at the ceiling instead?"
