Chapter 190: Sick Confessions
However, that wouldn’t make sense; Spade was sick. Why would he even suspect him out of all people? Arren sighed and left it at that; Spade’s condition was what mattered to him the most.
He organized the prescribed medicine. When there was a doctor in the place, Arren relaxed somewhat, at least he wasn’t feeling so much panic anymore.
Spade needed to take his medicine and rest. Arren brushed Spade’s hair, wiping the disheveled hair and revealing his forehead. He stared at him, his eyes softening.
"Spade," he called softly; he knew that the alpha was awake. "You need to take your medicine first." For sure, the auntie had already cooked some soup downstairs. As much as he wanted to cook something for Spade, the alpha himself didn’t want him to leave. Perhaps tomorrow, when Spade gets better.
Since, for sure, Spade had yet to eat anything, just a mouthful was enough, so he wouldn’t take the medicine on an empty stomach. Spade still didn’t say anything; if not for his hold, clutching his hand tightly, he might have thought that the alpha had fallen asleep already.
Just as he expected, not long after, the soup was delivered to his room. It wasn’t the head auntie but a kitchen staff instead. He smiled at him before the servant left, and Arren fully focused on the alpha again.
"Spade, can you get up?" he inquired gently, patting his shoulder. "Or are you already asleep?"
Spade, who had yet to say anything earlier, finally moved and even tried to open his eyes. There was a crease in the space between his brows as he clenched his teeth with his eyes slightly out of focus for a moment after opening his eyes.
"I..." Spade opened his mouth to say something, only to cough painfully, and Arren immediately tended to him and supported his back.
They were now sitting in bed, and Spade was still coughing as Arren rubbed his back. It took a few seconds before it stopped. Spade leaned on the omega’s body, which was considerably weak compared to usual.
Their figures seemed to switch, with Arren being the one supporting the alpha. The distress in his eyes deepened as he watched Spade, but he was also relieved that the alpha could reveal this vulnerable side of him, which showed how much he trusted Arren.
