Chapter 169: Insanity
Arren felt so incredibly hungry that he could even finish three people’s portions of food. He didn’t know why that was—did the dream he had, consumed most of his energy last night?
After thinking about it, he shrugged. Since he didn’t remember, why would he force himself? Arren knew his nonchalant behavior was sometimes a pain in the ass and one that eventually gave him trouble, but he always believed that certain matters had a reason for it.
He didn’t remember the dream because he didn’t want to remember it. He wasn’t as naive as he seemed on the surface; more than that, he was so superior at acting oblivious that he could even deceive himself.
He munched on his food deliciously as he raised his head, seeing Spade still watching him as he ate.
"You don’t want to eat more?" He cocked his head innocently and asked, there was still food squeezed in his cheek, making him look like a cute chipmunk.
Spade couldn’t help but smile fondly and pinch that bulge in Arren’s cheek. No matter how he was getting confused and getting lost, as soon as he saw Arren’s face and his smile, all of those concerns vanished in an instant, and the only one that was important was the man before him.
The hidden gloomy air around him and the looming instability of his emotions were all tamed in an instant, hiding deeply once more inside him.
"I’m fine," Spade answered honestly. While his appetite could be large as an alpha, he was already used to a controlled meal, especially on occasions when he had a lot on his mind, just like in this situation. "I’m already full watching you eat," he added, with the most sincere words.
Arren’s brows almost twitched as he heard this; it was sweet, but it sounded like he was a pig or something. He stared at the alpha and shrugged; he wouldn’t pursue the matter and continued gobbling the food as though unintentionally proving Spade’s words.
