Chapter 78: Shadow
Arren’s vision became blurred, and he was about to collapse; fortunately, his father immediately noticed and supported him.
"Son? What happened?" His father asked him, and with a little panic in his tone, he knew the Duke had asked him. And Arren wanted to answer, but he couldn’t.
He massaged the space between his brows; he was still dizzy and felt as though his surroundings were spinning, and he imagined himself falling from a high place even though it was clear that he was standing firmly on the floor.
What was happening? He couldn’t understand why he suddenly got dizzy. He was totally fine earlier. Was he hungry? Arren was certain that wasn’t the reason, so perhaps anemia?
He shut his eyes and calmed himself so as to stop the dizziness. Arren was aware that Spade also discovered his condition; he got a new supporter holding him. The alpha’s voice also resounded in his ears.
"He’s shaking, why?" Arren managed to hear from the alpha; even his father became worried and grasped his hand.
Arren didn’t know—was he trembling? Why couldn’t he feel it? Wait... he pressed his lips together, or at least tried to, and he only realized that even his lips were trembling as if in cold. Why? Am I afraid? From... what and who?
He opened his eyes, and the dizziness had slightly abated, and he was already leaning on someone’s chest, and he knew it was Spade. Arren could hear the fast heartbeat of the alpha. He seemed really nervous to have a heartbeat like this.
Even his father’s hands were cold; he held his hands tightly. Arren knew that the commotion on their side had already started to be noticed by others. He wanted to speak; however, his lips were trembling so badly that it was impossible to do so!
He also didn’t know what was going on! What was the trigger for his body to become like this? At least, his chest wasn’t aching, or he might be suspecting his heart condition has come back to haunt him again.
Arren lifted his head in difficulty and looked at his father amidst his blurred vision, and then at Spade, but he could only catch a glimpse of his jaw.
