Chapter 125
Koi’s eyes went wide at the unexpected words. Seeing his reaction, Bill sighed and muttered,
“So you didn’t know either.”
Koi just nodded, still looking stunned.
“I haven’t been able to see him at all...”
He hadn’t heard a thing since watching Ashley get dragged away right before his eyes. That’s why he’d risked the rumors and come to school—he’d had no other way. Koi stammered, voice tight with tension, as he explained all of this, and Bill inhaled sharply, his expression twisting.
“What the hell happened? Why the hell did Ash kidnap you out of nowhere? Do you even know what people are saying? They’re saying Ash went crazy for you. That you kept rejecting him, so he kidnapped you. Can you believe that?”
“That’s not true!”
“Of course it’s not true.”
Koi shouted, pale with shock, and Bill continued with a scowl still on his face.
“Ash isn’t some clingy freak. I’ve been friends with that guy for years—I saw how cleanly he ended things with his last girlfriend. Even when he ran into her, he smiled and said hi. He even got along with her new boyfriend. That’s Ash. Girls used to complain that he was too chill—he never got jealous. And now they think he kidnapped you because you wouldn’t return his feelings? What do they even know?!”
Bill was genuinely angry. Koi could tell just how deeply he admired and cared for Ashley.
The whole hockey team had been like that. Ashley was their captain and their friend—they practically worshipped him. It made sense that they’d be in a state of panic over what had happened.
