Dragged Into Another World Because of My Otaku Friend

Chapter 194: Kim

I called Bob and told him about this. At first, he was irritated because he said it would remove the exclusivity of the system. Quoting his words:

"I don't want to share our system!"

But then I explained to him that all of this would help us in the future. Imagine if Linus, Maya, Evelyn, and the others were able to use cards from the system, their potential would clearly increase exponentially.

Speaking of them, my thoughts suddenly went to the lady named Cynthia. I had not seen her since the meeting at the port. I had asked some of the guards, including Cain, but they said they had not seen her. I really hoped she was fine.

Bob was finally forced to accept the situation.

I called Kim and passed him the staff from one of the packs I had pulled before.

Kim's eyes widened as he held the staff in his hand. He examined every part of it with amazement. The staff was made of intricate wood and crafted beautifully.

"Do you really want me to use it? This staff looks amazing! Where did you get it? It must be very expensive!" He was excited.

"Can you try casting the skill using that staff?" I asked.

"Alright. Healing Light!" Kim raised his staff upward. A large yellow light covered the huge area where we stood.

So, it was confirmed that he could use the weapon.

On the other side, Bob slowly approached me.

"Alan, if he can actually use the weapon, can he use 'that ' skill?" Bob whispered.

"There is only one way to know."

A wicked grin appeared on our faces as we turned toward Kim.

"W-why are you looking at me like that?" Kim looked scared at our expressions.

1 hour later…

"Haaa, haaa… I, I cannot do it anymore!"

Dum!

Kim fell flat on the ground. His breathing was heavy. His limbs were weak and he could not stand anymore. Standing beside him, Bob and I smiled as we watched him.

"Looks like he really can use it," I said as I clapped hands with Bob. We then looked at the scene behind Kim. Hundreds of monsters were obliterated and the terrain was completely ruined.

All of it was done by a single man with one of the weakest classes, using one of the strongest skills.

Late in the evening, we arrived at Rose City. The atmosphere in the city was totally different compared to when we first arrived. As the Inter-Guild Tournament approached within days, the number of people coming to the city from various counties had increased three to four times. And it was estimated that even more would arrive later.

Lights illuminated all the roads, and bazaars were set up along the main streets.

As we were walking, we suddenly saw a gathering nearby. About twenty to thirty people formed a circle. At the center, a man was shouting while holding a piece of paper.

"We need to hear the will of the God of Light! What happened in Daisy Town last month is a stern message from the Almighty One. The Salvation Light descended upon this impure world to remind us not to forget Him!"

The nearby crowd nodded, and some even cried. Most of them were already in their golden years. Since the recent events, more and more people were taking credit and making their own claims. Some used it for profit, while others sought influence.

"Hey, look. There are your worshippers. Why don't you go and say hi?" Bob tugged my arm.

"What the hell are you talking about?" I replied. I was not a pious person, but I believed there was a supreme being. If I admitted I was a god, I was afraid a real one might unleash its wrath upon me. I didn't want to die yet, and definitely not in this world.

We walked past the group and arrived at the junction.

"Don't forget, Kim, to submit the quests. We will go back to our room first," Bob ordered. We then went our separate ways.

"Geez. Why do I look like an errand boy?" Kim walked slowly. Every day, he was the one submitting the quests for the party. And the next day, he would take another set of quests. That was why he felt like he was being used.

"No! I cannot think like that! Bob is an S-rank adventurer. This is my only chance to learn from the best! Besides, they have given me a great weapon and taught me powerful skills." Kim clenched his fist before running toward the guild. As he arrived, he immediately walked to the quest counter.

"Hey! Look who is here. It is Kim." A group of adventurers called out to him.

"Why haven't I seen you at your father's stall anymore? Don't you pity your father? There are complaints that the stall is always late serving food now."

Kim turned toward them, his eyes serious.

"I have become a full time adventurer now. So I don't have time to work at the stall. Besides, my father is not weak. He can handle it himself. I am very sure…" Kim said. His mind then began to imagine his father working alone.

'Do I need to find someone to help him? No. Knowing that old geezer, he would never want anyone else helping him,' Kim thought.

"Huh! Do you think an adventurer's life is easy? I remember you are E-rank, right? In this career, the lowest rank you need to survive out there is D-rank, and that is only if you have support. But there are rarely people out there who want to hire someone like that. If I were you, I would rather work at a noodle stall than bet my life," one of the adventurers said, belittling Kim.

"Hey, hey, don't be so harsh, okay. Our friend Kim is just having fun becoming an adventurer. Let him enjoy it first," a man said sarcastically. The group then laughed at his words.

Suddenly, their laughter was cut short.

"Alright, Kim, you have cleared 5 quests today, so these are all your rewards. 220 gold in total. Thank you for your hard work!" the guild staff said.

"Thank you." Kim took the pouch and walked past the group. He made a smirking face at them as he passed between them.

"Damn it! How can he make that much money? It is equivalent to a month of our rewards!"

"Did he join a powerful party?"

"He is so lucky!"

After that, a rumor spread that a low rank adventurer was clearing high rank quests on his own. Of course, only Kim knew the truth behind it.
