Chapter 121: Tournament Team
"Hello, Lunar. My name is Bob," Bob said to Lunar, who was now sandwiched between me and him. We were sitting in the meeting room.
In front of us was a large oval table made from some kind of expensive wood. Twelve chairs surrounded it, all occupied by the selected adventurers for the tournament.
Lunar kept her head down as she replied, "H-hi, Brother Bob." She was trembling as she spoke.
"You can just call me Oni-chan. Don’t worry, I’ll protect you in the tournament," Bob said with a constant smile on his face. He really looked like a suspicious guy. If this were our world, he’d probably be mistaken for a kidnapper with that kind of impression.
"Enough, Bob. Can’t you see she’s scared of you? Don’t worry, Lunar. We’re not bad people," I said to her. She looked really innocent. To think she was selected, there must be something special about her.
Lunar suddenly shuddered when I spoke. She looked absolutely terrified, now being the center of attention between two adult men.
"I think you guys should stop pressuring her like that. That little girl is trembling for her life," Maya said.
"What!? I didn’t do anything! I’m just being friendly, right, Lunar?" Bob said, moving his face even closer to her. Lunar slowly raised her face, and immediately, tears began to fall down her cheeks.
Maya immediately stood up and switched seats with Lunar. Now sitting beside Evelyn and Selene, Lunar seemed much more comfortable chatting with the two girls.
"Tchh! Why does this lioness always ruin my happiness?" Bob muttered quietly, glaring toward the other side.
"What did you just say?" Maya asked.
"Nothing."
