His Toxic Addiction

Chapter 366: Oatmeal.

Nicklaus chuckled at Arissa’s words, "Thank you so much for believing in me," he said and intertwined their fingers together.

Arissa smiled, remembering it was only yesterday when she told Collins that she was a bit hesitant to have babies now. In all, her discovery this morning stunned her more than any other thing ever would.

Nicklaus pulled her into another hug and dropped kisses on her shoulders. He left imprinting kisses and took in her sweet morning scent.

"I have never been this fortunate in my life, Arissa, neither have I have ever been as happy in the past as I am now, each second I spend with you. I do not even know how to tell you how thankful I am. You left me marveling at each angle of my life you changed and you did not stop there. You abruptly walked into my world and broke down my walls without my permission which wasn’t fair if you asked me," he laughed on her shoulder and continued, "I put my defense on once again and ruthlessly, you stripped me off them. I love you more than you would ever know and even after we take our last breaths, I wish the angels grant us the mercy to continue from where we stop here over there whenever we meet again,"

He paused and his feet began to move slowly at a pace. He raised his hand from her shoulder and looked into her eyes.

Arissa had tears in her eyes when he met her gaze and he pressed her face into his chest and rubbed her hair while humming softly for her.

Arissa sniffed, "How... How do you manage to love an awful person like me? I am so awful, Nick. I don’t care what you think because I know who I was to you. I treated you so badly and it was always a one-step forward and three-step backward progress when it came to our relationship," she cried.

Nicklaus smiled and stopped moving his feet. He stared up at the ceiling and replied, "I also wonder how I fell in love with you," he remarked, "To be honest, you are not awful and you should erase that from your mind about you. You are one of the realest people I have ever seen and it’s beautiful. Your beautiful inside was what attracted me to you and because of it, I decided to give you a tiny chance and you knew how to use it," he admitted.

Arissa raised her face to look at him.

She pouted, feeling guilty, "But I treated you like an enemy. I also refused to accept you," she reminded, hellbent on giving him a reason to scold her.

Nicklaus looked away from the ceiling and met her eyes. When he stared into her brown eyes, a small laugh left his lips, "See what I said?"
