Chapter 111: Drawing Addiction.
Nicklaus never planned for this when he walked into this room. However, the moment her lips touched his lips in such a soft and sweet manner, he realized he wasn’t dreaming when he felt her hand on his face. It was all real and happening.
And when after such a soft carcass, she decided to lean in for a kiss it left him wondering if she suddenly changed overnight.
He had only planned to give her a few documents before leaving the room due to the recent space she had been giving to him.
Not to make her extend her day’s range of avoiding him, he planned to be as brief as possible. But walking in, he heard her shower sound from the bathroom after a little search around the room and with that, he figured she was taking a bath.
He decided to wait until she was out. Seating on her bed, he scanned her room to see if there was anything off.
However, like an unknown addiction, her scent lingered around the room as assaulted his nose. It was already so late at night but Nicklaus’s brows furrowed when for the first time in many years, sleep came naturally and peacefully tried to lure him away.
Deciding to see how long this wired desire to sleep would last, he laid on the bed with strong assurance the sleep would go away the moment he closes his eyes.
Yet, like a soothing lullaby, her vanilla scent from her pillow and around the room lured him away and five seconds later, sleep came in a handful and dragged him in without his pills.
He felt at peace with her scent and he ignored what might happen if she sees him on her bed. He had expected a push from her or maybe, a harsh loud question.
