Chapter 97: Giving in (2)
Selene was able to catch a glance of that surprise reaction again. Xavier did not expect this.
Curiosity certainly was dangerous since she was the one to initiate a kiss without Xavier asking for one.
Was she so curious that instead of aiming for his cheek, she gave him a proper kiss this time?
Selene liked that he was in disbelief so she could back away from him shortly after her end of the deal was done but she soon found herself pressed against the door.
It was evident that Xavier was no longer stuck on his surprise and was taking full control of the moment. Of course, he wouldn’t miss the opportunity presented to him.
Selene touched his shoulder as she tiptoed so he wouldn’t strain himself to lean down to her. It was her turn to be surprised by her actions.
Xavier’s hands were back around her waist, pulling her closer as if there was any room between them to fill.
"Careful," Selene pulled away to advise him.
If they were not careful, they would end up hurting each other with their fangs but that didn’t seem to matter to him.
Selene didn’t know if Xavier heard her because rather than stop to compose himself before they got a little too carried away, he used the chance to deepen the kiss.
Selene didn’t push him away though it took her by surprise. Instead, Selene was filled with a mixture of nervousness and excitement. It didn’t help that his chest was bare, allowing her to feel more of his skin.
