She followed the young soldier to the entrance of the military base and from a distance saw Luo Zhiming standing there with a large backpack on his back.
As soon as he saw Fang Pingying, Luo Zhiming waved his hand, "Sister-in-law, I’m here."
Fang Pingying slightly frowned and nodded at him.
As soon as she approached, Luo Zhiming started to complain, "What’s wrong with Big Brother’s unit? I told them I’m Camp Chief Luo’s brother, but they just wouldn’t believe me and strictly refused to let me in, insisting on calling you out. Do they really think I would impersonate someone?"
Fang Pingying glanced at the young soldier guarding the gate, pulled Luo Zhiming aside, and said in a low voice,
"It’s the military’s regulation. No matter who it is, they must show proof and verify their identity. You can’t just say you’re the Battalion Commander’s brother and expect them to believe you. What if some criminals tried to infiltrate the base pretending to be someone else? It would throw the base into chaos."
Luo Zhiming pursed his lips and said no more after hearing this.
After a short wait, he asked again, "Where’s my Big Brother?"
"Your brother is at work." Fang Pingying looked at the bag behind him and found it a bit odd. If he had left his job, what about all the stuff he had brought initially? Why was there only one bag left? She asked uncertainly, "What’s up? Did you come today because you have something to discuss with your Big Brother?"
