Chapter 101: Weird People of President company
Jazmine Harrison observed Sebastian Crowne’s darkening face."Hey, come back!" Jazmine didn’t know what kind of hell his thoughts had wandered into while she’d been silently eating. If it had been anyone else but Jazmine Harrison, they would’ve stumbled back and never dared to distract the ’Devil’ when he looked so—so—scary.
But the moment he faced Jazmine, the dark demons hovering over him vanished in an instant and were replaced with smiling angels."Why don’t you just return with me? I’ve already asked Elias to prepare."
"With you?" Jazmine was reminded of the private jets Sebastian owned. How could she forget she was speaking to one of the richest men in all of mainland China? "Fine. But I’ll have to bring my secretary with me." Jazmine still had a lot to discuss with Emily Carrol. Earlier that day, Emily had texted her saying some issues had popped up in the company back in Beijing—something involving the Anderson family. Jazmine had been waiting for the reports and planned to listen to Emily on the way back.
"Why not?" Although he smiled, Jazmine failed to catch the devilish glint in Sebastian’s eyes.
Jazmine sent a message to Emily, asking her to arrive at the Crowne family residence that evening.
That afternoon, when she walked out holding the agreement papers in her hand, she was stared at by every person she passed."What are these strange glances about?" If photos had been allowed inside the company, they would’ve already taken shots of her and posted them everywhere. Elias’s method had clearly been effective. When Jazmine passed through the lobby, she didn’t see the usual receptionist. Instead, another woman had taken her place.
The new receptionist shrank in her chair the moment she felt Jazmine’s curious gaze. There was visible fear in her eyes as she looked away, trying not to be seen."The people in President Crowne’s company are so weird." Jazmine couldn’t understand the strange atmosphere.
Shaking her head, she climbed into her car and gave Rolf an address. It took more than an hour to arrive due to Hong Kong’s heavy traffic.
"Stay here. I’ll be back in an hour." Jazmine stepped out of the car and headed up the stairs. The residential block was modest, low-key, and fairly cheap. Her lips curled up as she entered the elevator. On the sixth floor, she stepped out and headed to the door Lucian Smith had texted her.
After just one knock, the door opened.
"President, you’re already here?" Lucian adjusted his glasses, a bit embarrassed as he stepped aside to let her in. "Don’t mind the mess." His cheeks flushed, and he coughed awkwardly. The floor was littered with pizza boxes and dirty laundry.
