Chapter 95: Lucky
"D-don’t believe him! He..."
Mr. Saturday frantically turned to October, wanting to out Riley for the things he revealed to him. But he wasn’t able to. Riley didn’t lock his throat and larynx this time, and he didn’t even suppress his movement, no.
This time, Mr. Saturday felt a sudden thud in his chest. A thud that rippled from his heart and caused his entire body to flinch and stop. He blinked and stared at October, who narrowed her eyes at him.
He then turned his focus back to Riley again, but it was hard to make out what his expression was due to the flickering red lights that were veiling his face.
But Mr. Saturday knew. He knew, despite the empty look on the boy’s face, that he was warning him. If he said anything, he would stop his heart and kill him where he stood.
"We..." Mr. Saturday opened his mouth again, this time carefully while looking Riley straight in the eyes, and even more careful with the words he uttered, "...We need to kill him, Ms. October. He’s dangerous."
"I will not resist." Riley immediately raised both his palms in surrender, his eyes that were almost as clear as silver water reflecting the red lights and making it seem as if they were moist, but they could actually never be drier. "Just please do not hurt my friends, it was I who planned everything, Ms. October, Mr. Jessy."
"We’ll kill you alright!" Mr. Saturday slowly grew in size again as he stepped forward, "He’s very strong. I’ll distract him, and you will finish him off."
Mr. Saturday stepped forward again, only for him to abruptly halt his steps when he realized Ms. October wasn’t behind her at all, nor did she seem behind her plan at all.
"What... are you doing, Ms. October?! We need to get rid of the boy! We—"
"We?" Ms. October’s voice turned deep, her face that was half-covered by a mask, twitching and obviously showing scorn, "You dare order me, amadi?"
"N-no. But, there’s no time to—"
