Broken Bond: Between Vices and Virtues (BL)

Chapter 116: Elise’s Schemes [2]

Azrael clenched his fists tighter his nails dug into his palms.

For once in his life, there was something he couldn’t achieve. Something that all his money couldn’t buy, and someone all his riches couldn’t blind.

Azrael snickered at himself. His thoughts weren’t making sense. He sounded like Knox pushed him away because he didn’t need those things.

’He did not indeed. His family’s wealth is old money. He walked away because he was f*cking scared of me, of my family. Then, he went on saying he wouldn’t mind if our son spent time with me! Pretty bastard, you don’t make sense at all,’ Azrael thought inwardly.

His head suddenly felt heavy. He grabbed the glass again and pushed it to the bartender, asking for a refill.

The fly beside him kept buzzing, and it was infuriating him big time.

His hand gripped tightly on the thin stem of the wine glass. Veins crept on the back of his hand and his knuckles tightened and turned almost white until the thin glass broke in his palm.

The sound of the glass crashing on the counter cut the blabbering mouth of the woman beside him, and a few gasps came from the people nearby.

"Oh my god, Azi! Are you okay?!" Elise stood and asked hysterically. She shouted at the bartender, "Get a towel, quick!"

Blood oozed from Azrael’s palm. It trickled down to his wrist and stained his cuff. Staring at his bloodied hands, memories flashed on his head and he chuckled bitterly. That may be the reason why Knox was afraid of him.

He completely forgot, but now that he slowly recalled them, in Knox’s eyes, he might have appeared as some cruel, violent, merciless, murderer.
