Chapter 431: We Have Each Other
Rain stayed at Lamey Country, overseeing her mother’s treatment alongside her father. Unlike before, her father had regained much of his health. Gone were the days when he had lost weight and sported dark circles under his eyes. It was clear to anyone that he was in a much better condition, both physically and emotionally.
"Seriously, you got your appetite from your mom. Summer was a glutton," Arlan joked as he watched Rain eat her lunch with him and Alexander in Summer’s room.
Rain pouted and defended herself, "Dad, I’m eating this much because I’ve got two babies inside of me."
Arlan’s eyes lit up with joy at that fact. He still couldn’t quite believe he was going to be a grandfather. He turned to Summer, who lay unconscious in her bed and spoke softly to her.
"You hear that, darling? Our daughter’s having twins! You need to wake up soon so you can meet them." Arlan’s voice was filled with hope and excitement.
Rain smiled, her heart swelling with love for her father. It had been days since Arlan’s mood had lifted, and she was grateful to see him in such high spirits.
The doctors had advised them to talk to her mother even while she was unconscious, as they believed it could help her respond to them.
They explained that talking to her about the past, and about how she ended up in her current state, would help her during treatment. The doctors believed that even though she was unconscious, her mind could still process the information.
They told Rain and her father that once her mother reached a point where her curiosity was piqued, when she started wanting to know more, to question what had happened or whether the stories were true, it would stimulate her brain and increase the chances of her waking up soon.
