Chapter 335: Back to Work
At the mansion, Alexander felt a sense of accomplishment as he reflected on his recovery. He had worked hard to regain his strength, and now he could even run as he had before the accident.
"Congratulations," Dr. Lambert said with a warm smile after completing his final assessment. "You’re perfectly fit."
Alexander’s face lit up at the news. "So, can I go back to work now?" he asked eagerly. Guilt tugged at him, knowing how much William had been struggling to manage the company alone during his absence.
"You can," Dr. Lambert replied with a cautious tone, "but don’t push yourself too hard, especially mentally. Recovery isn’t just physical."
Alexander nodded. Though work had always been his escape and passion, he understood the importance of pacing himself. He resolved to assist William gradually, ensuring his own health and memory adjustment weren’t compromised.
After wrapping up their conversation, Alexander walked Dr. Lambert out of the house.
As the doctor’s car drove away, Alexander noticed the evening had crept in. The sky had deepened into hues of orange and purple, and he glanced at his wristwatch, it was already past six.
His thoughts immediately turned to Rain. "Why isn’t she back yet?" he muttered to himself. "Her office closes at five, and it’s only a thirty-minute drive."
Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out his phone and checked for any messages from her. The empty inbox made him frown.
