Surprise Marriage to a Billionaire

Chapter 334: Who Invented Lies

Days passed as Rain observed Alexander steadily progress in his rehabilitation and therapy sessions. With a dedicated team of professionals overseeing his treatment, she no longer needed to be at his side throughout the day.

Realizing this, Rain decided it was time to return to work. While she cherished being near Alexander, she also understood the importance of giving him space to breathe and adjust without her constant presence. Her close friend Sanya had encouraged the idea, claiming it would be a good strategy to let Alexander miss her.

"You can’t always be clingy, Rain," Sanya had said with a smirk. "If you give him some room, it’ll make him realize how much he wants you around."

Rain chuckled at the memory, admitting to herself that Sanya might have a point. She smiled as she thought about it while getting ready for work. The balance between being supportive and giving Alexander space felt like the right approach. Besides, immersing herself in her own responsibilities would help her feel grounded while he continued his recovery journey.

Rain was almost out the door when she decided she couldn’t leave without seeing Alexander one more time. She peeked into the therapy room where he was busy with his rehabilitation team. A soft smile formed on her lips as she stepped inside.

"I’ll go ahead now," she said cheerfully, catching his attention. Then, without hesitation, she tiptoed and kissed him lightly on the lips. "I’ll see you later," she whispered before quickly turning away, her cheeks flushing with warmth.

She didn’t care that others were present to witness her affection; Alexander had always been openly affectionate with her in the past, and she enjoyed turning the tables on him now. She glanced back briefly as she exited and couldn’t help but grin at the sight of his startled expression and slightly reddened face.

Rain was settling back into her normal routine, though it came with an added layer of complexity. Rico, her trusted driver and bodyguard, had returned to his role. However, this time, William had insisted on enhancing her security despite her initial objections. Michael was already dead, his father was in prison, and Dina was also behind bars.

She had reluctantly agreed, especially after William brought up Tim Clayton. The mention of his name sent a chill through her. She hadn’t faced Tim yet, the man who invented lies about her past.
