William didn’t bring up the DNA test results when he got home, knowing everyone was already asleep. It was almost midnight when he arrived at the mansion. Lately, that had become his routine.
He was too exhausted, having worked nonstop since his brother fell into a coma. The weight of everything rested on his shoulders now.
With Dion’s help, William had stepped up to manage the Lancaster Group, while also juggling his full responsibilities at GIS. Letting go of GIS wasn’t an option, especially now. Cleaning up the chaos caused by those who had attacked his family had become personal. It wasn’t just a duty; it was a passion that fueled him far more than business ever could.
Sanya was already asleep when he finally slid into bed, gently pulling her into his arms. No matter how overwhelming his day had been, he always found solace in her warmth.
She stirred slightly, and a pang of guilt hit him for waking her. Slowly, she opened her eyes and reached out to touch his cheek.
"What time is it?" she asked groggily. "Did you eat dinner, or are you running on fumes again?"
"I’m fine," he reassured her. "I grabbed a burger on the way home. Go back to sleep. I didn’t mean to wake you." He placed a soft kiss on her lips.
Sanya sluggishly returned the kiss, her hand resting against his chest. But when William deepened the kiss, neither of them could stop the moment from becoming more than just comfort.
William’s hands moved to Sanya’s sensitive spots, savoring the soft, muffled sounds she made in response. The scent of her skin was intoxicating, and she always felt like a much-needed indulgence after his long, draining days.
