Chapter 464: Could She Be Pregnant?
Talia heard that Lambert talked with Louis to explain his side to the public – that he wanted the position of the Duke and Talia had nothing to do with it. But Louis refused as he must.
The thing with giving out statements each time someone talks bad about you is that it will become a habit. At first, people will expect you to give explanations, but then their expectations will turn to demands.
It is exactly why suing for misinformation can backfire. If you keep on suing every time they print a wrong story about you, people will start to believe every story that you didn’t sue for, since they’ll believe they are true. Suing is taxing and no one can control the stories getting printed about them.
But Lambert did a tricky move with the consent of Jolene. He leaked a picture of him and Jolene to the press and the entire attention turned to their relationship. Then there were puff pieces about them revealing their long-term relationship. Articles were written about how Jolene is running one of the best companies in Rosandale and how she is not planning on giving it up.
Of course, people caught up and some doubted if Lambert wanted to take the title of Duke purposefully for the sake of his love. Talia called Jolene and talked to her since she knew it won’t be long before the press will start blaming Jolene.
But Jolene was in good spirits. She knew she has to face the scrutiny of the press and even the public if she wants to marry Lambert. Lambert is the heartthrob of many young women in the country and anyone marrying him will be put through hell.
Since Talia could see Jolene is prepared for what is to come, she felt relieved. After ensuring that she will help her in case she asks for it, Talia ended the call.
Days passed and with no acceptance or refusal from the palace about Lambert’s change of title, that story became old and it got replaced with pregnancy hoaxes about Talia.
It has been three months after Talia’s wedding and although they’ve been doing it more often without any protection, Talia didn’t get pregnant. She was a little sad everytime her periods arrived. She could see her great-grandmother expected to see her children soon and it would dampen her mood at times.
In those times, it would be Arthur making her mood better. He was busy these days with the expansion of the Northern Star in a new country and Talia decided to stay in Rosandlae for the time being.
She had grown very fond of Raphael and he proved himself to be a very smart and capable assistant. The only downside to him is at times he’d go down the hole of hacking and gaming and will forget the word exists. At those times, he needs to be given a slap – a literal slap, to bring him back to reality.
