Chapter 1358: Could There Be Good News About the President
The meeting was in chaos, with many shareholders pressuring to elect a new leader.
After receiving the phone call, Ian Douglas knocked over the coffee that the secretary had just brought.
The coffee spilled all over the table, steaming hot.
Everyone present saw that the proud, domineering, and extremely forceful Old Master Douglas suddenly seemed to have transformed into another person.
Just moments ago, he was cold-faced, slamming the table, ready to fight at any moment. But after receiving the call, it was as if he was under a spell, frozen in place with a look of shock and joy.
Yes, joy...
During this period, everyone knew Old Master Douglas was in a bad mood. His only beloved grandson, Matthew Saxon, the President of Seymour, was still missing, presumed dead...
To put it nicely, presumed dead, but who truly believes that Matthew Saxon is still alive?
Even if he survived the plane crash into the sea, he must have been severely injured.
Severely injured and falling into the deep sea, could he still be alive?
That sea area is often frequented by sharks and other deep-sea creatures; many died, were injured, and there must have been plenty of blood spilled. Sharks can’t stand the smell of blood.
So, the fate of Matthew Saxon is quite predictable.
Though there’s no news yet confirming he was devoured by sharks, a quick analysis reveals his probable fate.
Considering the tragic death of his beloved grandson, Ian Douglas’s mood is easily imagined.
But now, the Old Master Douglas who was always wearing a grim expression and maintaining a low-pressure atmosphere is actually smiling.
The delight filled his entire face, from his brows to the corners of his eyes, and from the depths of his eyes to the corners of his lips; the immense joy could be felt even from far away.
At such a special moment, what could possibly make Old Master Douglas so jubilant?
Could it be... news of Matthew Saxon, and it’s good news?
From start to finish, Ian Douglas said nothing else; before hanging up the phone, they heard him say with a slightly trembling voice: "Alright, I will be back immediately."
Then, he hung up.
The call didn’t last long, but everyone present began letting their imagination run wild and speculate.
"The meeting will adjourn for now, we can discuss any matters tomorrow, meeting adjourned." It was apparent Ian Douglas was trying hard to suppress some sort of excitement; though his expression was calm, the slight tremble in his voice betrayed his current mood.
The meeting, which had been underway for less than ten minutes, was prematurely ended.
After announcing, Ian Douglas immediately turned and left, his steps quick and rapid, as if the wind was beneath his feet, walking particularly fast.
As Ian Douglas disappeared like a gust of wind, some shareholders who were slow to react began whispering among themselves, their faces puzzled.
"Who do you think was on the other line, for Old Master Douglas to leave in such a hurry?"
"Could there be good news about the President? Otherwise, it’s hard to imagine what other good news could make him so happy?"
"News about the President? No way, is the President still alive? If so, his fate is truly miraculous, surviving both a plane crash and a sea plunge, after all that, he’s still alive?"
