Chapter 1263: At Least Let Me Talk to Him
Noah Yates was reminiscing about those good old days, but was taken aback when she interrupted, his expression turning slightly stiff.
Bam—
The atmosphere was tense, and the sudden sound immediately captured everyone’s attention.
The sound came from Rose Yates, who was sitting opposite Scarlett Yates.
She slammed her half-drunk glass of milk onto the table, her soft and chubby face scrunched, and she forcefully wiped her lips with a napkin, then turned to Noah Yates and said, "Dad, I also love Chinese breakfast. Why didn’t you ask someone to prepare one for me in advance? Dad, you’re biased. Now that you have my elder sister, do you not care about your little daughter anymore?"
Her words were full of grievance, exaggerated on her face, yet she truly felt wronged in her heart.
Noah Yates had never cared whether she liked breakfast or not.
People always said the youngest in the family is the most spoiled, but she now felt like the neglected one.
Rose Yates suddenly remembered what Scarlett told her last night: "The first child holds a different significance."
Looking at Noah Yates’s attitude now, it really seemed different, and she felt even more blocked inside, while secretly relieved that Scarlett Yates was a greedy woman.
Just a few more days to endure, as soon as this greedy woman leaves, she would become Daddy’s most beloved little daughter again. Then, she wouldn’t have to worry about anyone competing or fighting with her.
"You also enjoy Chinese breakfast?" Noah Yates raised his eyebrows and smiled, "Why have I never heard you mention it? If you really like it, I’ll have them prepare more tomorrow. It’s just a breakfast, why accuse me of favoritism."
Rose Yates pouted and complained, "You are biased. You don’t care about what I like or dislike, but you remember so clearly what my sister likes to eat. I’m starting to feel jealous of my sister."
"Your sister has been away from me all these years. Even if I’m a bit better to her, it’s only right. But you and Nolan have been pampered since childhood, with the best food, clothing, and amenities. Rose, you’ve enjoyed much more than your sister, so don’t be ungrateful." Noah Yates was almost finished with breakfast. He said a few words to Rose Yates, then put down the knife and fork, wiped his mouth with the napkin, and glanced at the time.
"Take your time eating. I need to head to the office. Rose, don’t forget to practice the piano after breakfast. I’ll check when I come back tonight. If it’s still no good, I’ll dock all your pocket money for the month."
"What? All docked? Dad, that’s too harsh a punishment—I have three classmates with birthdays this month. What will I use to buy them gifts?" Rose Yates complained with a bitter face.
Noah Yates stood up and gave her a sidelong glance, "So make sure you practice the piano well today. If you learn it, you’ll get double the pocket money. If not, you won’t get a penny."
The maid gently pushed the chair aside after he stood up.
Noah Yates turned to leave.
"Dad." Scarlett Yates gulped down the milk in her cup, pursed her lips, and called out just in time.
"Do you have something else?"
"Dad, I want to go to the hospital." Scarlett Yates raised her head and looked him straight in the eyes, directly stating her request.
Noah Yates furrowed his brow slightly, not immediately responding to her.
Scarlett Yates continued, "Since you want me to persuade him to sign, I should at least meet him to talk, right?"
